For miles around the town of Wolventry, the name of Judge Samuel Winterborne is one which would leave any woman's heart cold. His hired goons hunt down the women he believes practice dark arts, and then locks them away from the world in the dungeon in the caverns below his estate. As he is in the process of uncovering what he believes to be a local coven, Winterborne may be unleashing something worse upon the world.
